On Saturday, Penybont travelled to Port Talbot Town for a Nathaniel Car Sales Welsh League Division One fixture.

Penybont's first chance of a goal came in the second minute when Port Talbot's keeper Rory McCreesh saved an attempted chip from Marcus Griffiths.

Eight minutes later, Penybont conceded a free-kick on the edge of the box, Jonathan Hood placed the ball wide of Penybont's keeper, Rhys Wilson to open the scoring.

In the 15th minute Penybont's Billy Borge headed just wide from a Kane Owen corner.

Three minutes later, Penybont's Joe Hopkins was close from an Owain Warlow (pictured, red, right) pass.

In the 26th minute, Penybont equalised through Warlow following a good move involving  new signing, Kostya Georgievsky and a cross from Griffiths.

A minute from half time, a Griffiths' shot hit the post.

At the start of the second half, Penybont substituted Tom Atyeo for Ioan Emanuel. A few minutes later assistant referee, Matthew John, drew the attention of the referee, Gavin Townsend, that Penybont had not advised the match officials of the substitution. Atyeo was yellow carded accordingly.

In the 54th minute, a Kinsella shot hit the cross bar.

Two minutes later, a long-range shot by Warlow was wide of the target.

In the 65th minute, Penybont's Borge headed wide from an Owen cross.

In the 75th minute, Port Talbot's Oliver Bowen, who had only been on the park for a few minutes, appeared to stamp on Penybont's keeper, Wilson. The incident escalated with many players involved. When the dust had settled, referee Townsend sent off Borge and Bowen for violent conduct and serious foul play respectively.

Three minutes later, Port Talbot's Hood missed from close range.

Following a quick free-kick in the 84th minute, Penybont's Wilson saved well from Patrick Fineral.

In the final minute, Port Talbot's Lewis Holmes, missed the target with a close-range header.

The match ended 1-1, but Penybont will feel it was two points lost with several opportunities crossing in front of the Port Talbot goal just needing a touch to score.
