On Wednesday, Penybont travelled to play Cwmbran Celtic in Division One of the Nathaniel Car Sales Welsh League.

In the 12th minute, a corner from Penybontís Kane Owen resulted in player-manager Rhys Griffithsí header being cleared off the line.

Four minutes later, Penybont took the lead when a Kane Owen free kick was cleared by Celticís keeper Lewis Watkins but only to Adam Carpenter who played the ball back in for Rhys Griffiths to head home.

In the 19th minute, a long shot by Celticís James Young hit the post and six minutes later, a shot by Celticís Lloyd Kinsella hit the crossbar.

In the 33rd minute, a Cullen Kinsella header for Penybont was saved by keeper Watkins.

Ten minutes into the second half Celtic equalised when a free kick by substitute Dan Davies was headed home by Lloyd Kinsella.

Twelve minutes later, Penybont were in the lead again when Cullen Kinsella (pictured) scored from an Owain Warlow cross, and he scored his second six minutes later from a counter-attack which included passes from Warlow and Kostya Georgievsky.

In the 78th minute, a shot by substitute Joe Hopkins was parried by home keeper Watkins into the path of Georgievsky to score his first goal since joining Penybont from Aberystwyth Town in March 2017.

Two minutes from time, Cullen Kinsella completed his hat trick from a Georgievsky pass for Penybontís fifth and final goal of the match.

On Tuesday evening, Penybont travelled to play Goytre United in a round one group stage Reserves Cup match, and lost 5-2. Nick Ivey scored both of Penybontís goals.

On Thursday, Penybont travelled to play Goytre United again, this time in Reserves Division West, and lost 5-3. Ben Cripps, Lloyd McVeigh and Nick Ivey were on target for Penybont.

Also on Thursday, Penybont entertained Port Talbot Town at the KYMCO Stadium in the WPL Development League (South).

Penybontís scorers in a 9-0 victory were Josh Jones (10, 42, 65), Connor Goldsworthy (15), Matthew Symons (23, 83), an own goal by Port Talbotís keeper Corey Kingdom (48), and Rhys Jordan (78, 88).
