Penybont FC 8 v 1 Undy Athletic
PUBLISHED: 19th Aug 17
Penybont FC welcomed Undy Athletic to the Kymco Stadium on Sat 19th of August and a tough encounter was expected as both teams won their first league games 2 - 1.

Penybont were without the suspended James Parry and the injured Owain Warlow and we saw Ben Symons, Josh Jones and a returning Kieran Howard  come into the starting eleven.

The wind was blowing, but it was a sunny afternoon, so conditions were good for keeping the ball on the ground.

Penybont started the game well and after a few near misses, they opened the scoring from wide man Josh Jones for his opening goal for the club. Bradley Flay then got in the act and scored a right foot shot into the top corner of the net. Another soon came along and Kane Owen got onto the score sheet with a rasping drive which took a slight deflection before hitting the back of the net.

In the 2nd half, Undy came flying out of the blocks and had a few chances but nothing to worry Rhys Wilson in the home goal. Penybont then went up the other end and player / manager Rhys Griffiths headed home number four. Undy hit straight back and Dan Jarman slotted the ball under the despairing dive of Wilson to make the score 4 - 1. Penybont started to up the gears and further goals from Cullen Kinsella 2, Flay and Joe Hopkins put Penybont in the driving seat.

The referee brought the game to a close and the Penybont supporters all went home happy.
